It seems like when I first got my truck a couple months ago one brake indicator on the dash, either the "P" or "!" would light when the parking brake was set and the other would light when the transmission was in Park. Now neither comes on when shifted into Park and both come on when the parking brake is set, even if I'm in Drive.
I'm used to having the parking brake lever by the console, not under the dash, so a couple times I would back out of parking space with it on and wouldn't realize it till I moved into Drive and I wasn't going anywhere. A couple weeks ago I could have sworn I drove about 30 feet forward before I realized the parking brake was set, but it was driving normally... maybe the brake wasn't set all the way. I tried this again on purpose a couple days ago with just a little gas and the brake seemed to be working correctly then.
What this is all leading too is I'm wondering if the parking brake is actually set a little bit because I've noticed decreased performance. It could be from the slightly taller tires and new exhaust without freeing up the intake, but I'm still curious if the parking brake is screwed up. I checked the fuel mileage which hasn't decreased, and I also cleaned the MAF with a couple sprays of carb/tb cleaner.
