BRAND NEW INSTAL!! 2000 Watts, Rockford Fosgate, JL Audio W7's!

Hey Carl, How do you like the 2 RF bd1000a1 amps? I have the same exact set-up but with 2 15" RF power subs.

I will warn you something though. Even with a 200 amp alternator and 3 caps, my lights still dim when it hits hard. My best(with the slip from IASCA) is 148.9 dbs and then the windows blew there seal and I got disqualified. My best ever at the audio shop is 152.4 dbs. I don't use that cause I can't prove it. Well 3 people can but its not an IASCA slip so ya know.

Is what really helps is adding another Optima deep cycle just for the system alone. It took alot off the rest of the system.

I was at an IASCA show last year and the first car i saw hit 167spl. It was a astrovan. When the bass hit the whole van vibrated to hell. The front windsheild was actually moving about 1/4 forward and 1/4 back. The pressure level in that van was insane. He had some kind of clamps to keep his door shut.

Most of the cars there were totally hacked up. They were made spacifically for SPL. Most of them had no seats and the entire car was just one big ass box. Most everyday driver cars were hitting around 150spl.

At the IASCA competion i was at they were measuring SPL not decibal.

I really like the RF...i mean as much crap as they get, they do provide a powerful amp, and all i was looking for was just raw power, not clarity...ya know? I am really hoping to hit 150 db...don't know if i will now that your saying that... :( But my first upgrade will be the 200 amp alternator...if Mr.Alternator ever e-mails me back...

Also, how much of a difference do you think upping from a stock alt to a 200 amp one will make?

Thanks..

Carl

yeah, they took almost a week to email me when i was asking about prices for my explorer.

Actually SPL (sound pressure level) is measured in decibels (dB). That is the unit of measure. Kinda like volume is measured by gallons or liters, and distance by miles or kilometers.

So actually they were measuring dB, only they called it SPL.

So SPL is measured in decibil .... dont i feel like an idiot.
