can a two pin cam sensor be replaced with a three pin sensor and sync

i have a 1999 ford explorer 4.0 ohv with a three pin cam sensor. the replacement motor is a 99 4.0 ohv manual with a two pin sensor. can the three pin sync replace the two pin sync without any problems. the wiring harness has been changed due to the automatic transmission.this is the harness from the original motor with the three prong sensor. the replacement motor still has the sticker on the valve cover. can anyone help with this issue

you might have to put the 2 pin syncro into also then the sensor.

if yours came with a 3 pin, you will have to reuse it. i cant remember the exact reason, but i think it has to do something with the resistances inside the sensor.
