My check engine light came on and it's showing a "P0193" which is a fuel rail pressure sensor condition. I just changed my fuel filter so I know it's not that.

They said $277 for parts and labor at the dealership. I found the part online for around $75 and I saw a video and it seems like this thing was sitting right under the hood on that vehicle and came off very easily. It was a ford, but I don't know what kind of vehicle.

I looked under my hood and I couldn't immediately spot it. That either means I don't know what I'm looking for (which is entirely possible) or it's buried somewhere.

Is the FRPS relatively easily accessible on my '04 explorer XLT for someone with beginner's skill level?

Thank you for the help, I really appreciate any comments.

If I'm thinking of the correct part it is as easy as a couple of screws and unplugging/plugging the connector. Is this on a 4.6L V8?

If its a 4.6 v8 then yes its right on top easily accessible. On the 4.0 v6 its hidden barely under the intake manifold (big black plastic thing on top center of engine)

Thanks boom. It is a 4.0. Is that manifold thing easily removable (for an amatueur)?

Definitely not an easy task for a complete amateur. The EGR and rear torx mounting bolts can be a bear. The vacuum lines are very simple though.
