I am curious if i can delete the heater control valve temporarily to get some kind of heat in my truck until i have time and its warm enough to do a full run down. My temp gauge drops when reving but air gets a small bit warmer. No leaks anywhere and it dont over heat at all. Have "burped" the system 6 times and still have no heat. Radiator and tank are full. I am lost on how to fix it properly and just need a bandald for now. I have replaced heater control valve, thermostat twice, burped 6 times, no weap from water pump, check vac lines, replaced climate control knobs, and no leak in truck. I am lost. Can i just runs the lines straight to heater core lines without damage being caused or does anyone know wtf is wrong with my heat?

You might have a blend door issue. Does the AC work?

You can remove the heater control valve.

Did you check your pressure cap to see if it's working correctly,of it isn't the water flow won't work as its supposed to,my Mountaineer is having the same issues and the cap wasn't holding pressure but now I am experiencing the same heater valve you mentioned,it acts like the vacuum isn't pulling it open but also seems like the diaphragm inside the valve is defective, I'm planning on trying to zip tie the valve open to see what happens.

Has the truck ever had any coolant leak-stop products added to the coolant system? If so, depending on which product/s was/were used, perhaps the heater core is clogged?

Have you used a OBD scan tool to log the engine coolant temperature?
