can I replace a 2 piece upper control arm with a one piece?

My 98 Explorer is needing driver side upper control arm. I picked up a set to do both. While the driver side is a one piece control arm the passenger side is a two piece control arm. Can I replace the two piece with a one piece?

Yes. I did on my '98. Not as easy to align from what I understand (my shop did my alignment) but easier install.
