Can I swap out my '97 Explorer XLT 4.0 engine with a' 93 Ranger 4.0?

Trying to find out if I can swap out my '97 Explorer v6 with a' 93 Ranger v6. Any information you provide would be appreciated.

you can, but you will have to make a few changes to the ranger motor. you will want to reuse all of your sensors, fuel rail and injectors. i cant remember if you must change the lower intake. the upper i am very sure you need to change that. you also might have to change the drivers side exhaust manifold (the egr systems are different). and lastly, the metal motor mounts that bolt to the motor. they look the same at a fast glance, but its where the rubber mounts bolt to the metal are different (staggered differently). basically you will need to strip the donor motor down to a long block and transfer all your parts over from your 97 motor to it
 






In late 97 the OHV went to an 8 bolt crank, where as its a 6 bolt up till then. You could still use the 93 engine just would need the flexplate also.

99 explorer to a 04 ranger

Can I put a 99 explorer engine in a 04 ranger both have 4.0 v6 I know several things will be different but before I do the work will it work thanks for any info
