I have a 2001 Sports Trac, 2x4, V6. Bought it new, treated it like a queen. It now has 250k miles. Never had one problem with it. I am now in the market to buy a pontoon and wondering if it could tow it. I know I will need a tow bar with a trailer hitch (bumper only can pull 2000 lbs). My concern is not when it is on the highway but when I am pulling it out of the water or up the steep hills.

BTW I'm a girl. Lol
Luv my truck :us::scratch:

Im a girl too! Towing capacity is 5,040 lbs so as long as it doesnt weigh much more then that you should be good to go! Ive pulled a lot with my tiny broncoII with no issues!

Nice to see that Women do exist on here lol.

You will be fine pulling a 22' pontoon boat. Average dry weight is around 2000lbs. Motor = 400lbs, Trailer = 1000lbs, average in 500lbs for gear and fuel.

4000lbs fully loaded.

invest in a tranny cooler if you dont have one already, and get yourself a brake controller/trailer brake setup as well. good luck and post pics!

Should be okay, although without 4 wheel drive you may want to stick to paved boat launches if possible.
