Cannot get out of 4WD

Recently purchased 95 XLT will not shift into 2wd. I have replaced the transfer case shift motor and that did not remedy the situation. The indicator lights work and it will shift from 4wd high to 4wd low but will not go to 2wd even though indicator shows it does. Any suggestions? Thanks for your support.

Might want to check the electrical connections to the transfer case. Mine got stuck in 4high, and when I checked the connectors they were full of dried mud. Cleaned them with some WD40 and I havent had the problem since.

I had the same thing on my 96 back in the day, I fixed it by blowing on the tranny with a pressure washer (in retrospect it was probably mud in the connector).
