Imagine the poor folk that get turned over by these crooks doing this! I see every make and model prestige as well!
E bay should not allow this at all- bloody poor show if you ask me!

A stamp is only as useful as the information it purports to suggest. Unless I see an invoice, a stamped service book is totally useless IMHO. I alway call the stamping Dealership to verify history. If the stamps checks out, then its A-OK. I can't understand why people take a stamp in a book as gospel?

Ask questions, call the Dealership, look for independent verification of the information - I really don't see how these books pose any risk to the confident buyer. Genuinely if anyone is taken in y a stamped service book - then more fool them IMHO.

Never, ever, take anything for fact unless you can verify it yourself.

Agreed that this is wrong - and when you consider that a nicely stamped up history book can add a few hundred to the asking price it is very worrying - must admit though I never ring anyone that has stamped the book to verify as I always want to see reciepts to back up the stamps.

I reported it to E bay and they say- if its police reporting they will remove the listing....othewise nothing will be done!!!
Hmmmmm suspect trading ways to say the least- I know to us in the know, a book stamped means not a lot as we do like to see reciepts and I am sure we all keep them, I have an a4 box in date order!
But to a newbie looking for an Ex with no prior knowledge- a stamped book is as you say- worth a few hundred more in price.......given that these engines are robust except for the chains- its so wrong/
Oh well- nothing can be done it seems.
