When starting my 2004 Sport Trac (61,000 mi), the auto door locks will engage when cranking (as opposed to when I shift to Drive and start on my merry way). This is causing my Sport Trac to struggle when starting, but it eventually will start. Also, when it does finally start, a couple of the gauges on the instrument panel will vibrate for about 10 sec while making a distinct clicking sound. After the 10 seconds, the gauges will operate as normal. I have not noticed any other issues while driving, or any other electrical issues. I'm just concerned that it's leading to a bigger issue, and I want to nip it in the bud. Thanks for any help

I think you can disable the autolock feature mate, search this forum and you will find it, it really should not lock on cranking, I think it will lock in reverse and forward gear only?!

Thanks for the tip, but I've already tried that route. Disabled the autolock via the keyless entrypad. Still locks upon startup...the car seems to be struggling even more to start, and now I noticed it will occasionally reset my trip odometer to zero.
