me and my father in law decieded to change the alternator in my exp. prior to changing it my car died because the battery was too low. i had to push it out the street while in neutral i noticed as i was pushing power steering fluid began to shoot out the power steering cap. after we got the alternator in i tried driving and when i turn the wheels left and right it makes a sqeeking noise and its hard to turn as if theres no fluid i had already added fluid so thats good. is maybe the alternator not put on right causeing this??? when its idle it makes no noise at all. or is that common when pushing a car thats off in neutral the fluid to shoot out like that....is my car done??? if its fixable id wanna keep it but lately it seems like one thing after another with the truck

dont turn.... problem solved....

seriously though our lovely p/s pumps do that whenever you turn the wheel while its not running

is it a belt squaking noise, because if it is then the tension on the belts isnt corect... trying to remember if 95 has an auto tensioner, if it does then forget that

depending on what type of noise it is could also be air in the p/s system... make sure theres no bubbles in the fluid. if there is you need to bleed the sustem by turning the wheel from lock to lock with the truck running untill your arm feels like its gonna fall off, then do it again, that should stop the bubleing
being that you said you dotn feel power steering that could likely be your noise

also never hurts to make surre the belts are routed corectly

ok i checked the fluid and there is no bubbles...so im guessing its the belt. as far as tension it looks and feels pretty firm...whats the best way to fix this without causing more damage...will driving it like this mess up anything
