Car Stereo Stolen...need ideas.

A couple of weeks ago I accidently left the doors unlocked and some a*****e stole just the deck that was in the Ex. Needless to say I was fuming. Fortunately, they left everything else. Well, I had a spare deck lying around so I installed it and made sure that I always locked my doors. Well I go out to the car this morning and my window busted and the entire stereo ripped out. My instincts tell me its the same people because they knew what was in there and just waited for a new deck to be put in before they finished the job. Now I'm really pissed. These people have officially declared war on me. I wanted to know though if any of you have ideas on what I should do. I am so pissed at these MF's at this point anything is reasonable.

why not set up a sting op.. they probably hang out in the same place or area, so leave ur windows down and put a new deck in, wait for htem and catch them in the act.. beat their @sses and then bring them to the cops after they give u ur old deck back

Do you have any clue who they are? Involved the cops yet? That would be my first move... Did you have an alarm on your Ex? Shoot, my friend has a sweet set up in his Yukon, and its been broken into twice, so he put in a NEW alarm... horns inside and out of the car. Try and steal his sub and system with over 100db of "WHEEEEEEEE" in your ears... it sucks. LOL.

Was the system covered by insureance? If so, get the check, buy a new system, get it all up and running and go back to the spot where they jacked all of your stuff. Sit behind something with one of those little baseball game mini-bats and a taser or sumthin....that would be great....then, you whoop the **** out of them and take their ID's and stuff. Then, tell em that they have like a week to come up with the stereo equipment or the cash for it, or they get another whoopin and you bring in the cops....

Of course this all depends on how many of them their are, if they are packin anything lethal, and how big they are...but that is just what sounded good in my head...

The Ex was locked and alarmed but looking at the job, they did pretty quick. They left the things that would take a little extra time like the speakers behind the door panels. Unfortunately, its not covered by insurance. The window is, but aftermarket stereo equipment isn't unless you have additional coverage. I called the police this morning. They came out and took a report and were going to have the car dusted. Although, they said they weren't very confident to get a print because I guess you can't get a print off of a textured surface. I have thought about trying to bait them and then beat the sh*t out of them. I like the taking the id idea. Keep them coming. I was also thinking about putting a surv. camera as well. I think it was some of the teenagers/highschool around the area.

XLT_66, I'll be the one carrying something lethal. I can almost tolerate random acts of "conveneint" vandalism (leaving the doors unlocked), but to plan and wait for a new piece to be put and come back with tools is personal.

ok now thats over with what it happened in your driveway right if it did put on bad ass alarm on it tint your windows dont drive anywhere with your system going that you dont know very good if you have a light i front of your house put a motion sensor to replace that and move your computer if you have one (hehehe) get a web cam or a didital camcorder (and i dont want to say this but) use your ex as bait put in a new system go buy a rifle and sitt out i did that when rumors said i was going to get my eclipse (before it got totaled) totaled

PekingMan - Go down to Fry's Electronics and pick up their X10 wireless color camera for $59. Hook the receiver up to a VCR equipped with an 8 hour tape and sit back and watch for them to come back. The camera will transmit up to 100 feet. The ad came out last Friday though so tomorrow the price will probably go back up to $79. I picked one up last week and am thinking about installing it in the vent above my garage door pointed down at my driveway. Quality is pretty good and is VHS resolution (320x240).

You might be able to order it on-line from Fry's web-site (www.outpost.com). I know X10 also sells directly, but their price is $79.99 but includes a free $20 battery pack(www.x10.com). They have alot of cool products. The battery pack would let you put the camera on the dash and get a close-up of the person breaking in

Or if you looking for some serious pain go to walmart or a sporting goods store and pick up a $100or less paintball gun with a 100ball capicaity and a pretty large air tank. And around the later time of the night have you system on and you windows down and lights on in your Xplorer and sit behind some bushes (with some Coca Colas sitting around, or your favortie beverage, NO BEER OR DRUGS!) and when you see them coming dial 911 tell them what happening and come out of the bushes and say "DONT FU*KING MOVE" If they try to run light there ass up with an asortment of colars (aim for their heads) and they should be whining like little babbies! I could see it now they will be pleading for you to let them go but tell them "Dont move an inch"!!! If they do fire off a few more in the zipper region (or their ball) Paint balls hut like hell and can leave huge brusises!! And you could even use the paintball gun after this incendent, for fun or whatever. Plus, the gun was for protection, and its better than "legally" owning a gun becuse they couldnt charge you with murder if some how you shot them badly. I think it would work perfecttly! Just my 2 cents

Its all fun and games til someone catches a paintball in the eye or ear. Then you get sued and get to pay a thief to sit at home for the rest of your life. Paintball guns can be real dangerous. You be safer just putting the boots to 'em.

As kind of an update. I went out to the car last night after work to examine it more closely and to figure out why I didn't hear the alarm. Turns out the MF's jimmyed the hood, cut the battery cable and then broke the window to get. When I find these MF's..... Which leads me to the police. Supposed they lifted a print and are processing it. So with some luck I can prosecute their punk *****. Maybe I'm naive, or its the way I was raised, but what drives a person to do these types of things? It's incidents like these that cause me to lose confidence in humanity.

Well good luck with the finger printing, and I really hope a print or two turns up. When some MFs broke into my truck, the cops dusted just about every surface of my truck (what a mess) and couldnt find a single print, they said its because they cant get prints off of textured surfaces, and I guess the Xs have a lot of textured surfaces. Anyway good luck and let us know!

My X is in the shop for service so the gave me a rental it's a 2002 ram its so big, I have to park on the street. I go out to the truck for work to day and some a$$ hole boot F***ed the side of the truck. But it's a rental so its ok but if it was mine I would be pissed.
