I have been noticing that when i go thru car wash's that i get some weird stuff going on.The wash i went to today is high pressure and only sprays the sides and front and back of vehicle. Not the under body.I pulled out of the parking lot and floored it and it was almost like hitting the rev limiter about 5 times at 4,000 rpms even tho red line is wayyyy away from that It clears after that everytime, hell if i just drive normal it wont do it at all.It just cant seem to build power past 4k rpm's a few times and is gone after that. Its like a surging/ rev limiter/ miss fire feeling LOL.

I thought maybe water was getting into a spark plug boot maybe. However since it clears after 5 tries i doubt that.Water would stay in a plug boot for sometime. It's almost like its getting into something fuel related.I would think if ignition of any kind got wet it would run like crap for a few hours.I wonder if something in the wheel wells gets wet and causes this ? I have seen a small black relay box that sits kinda on the frame rail in the fender area.I think its on the passenger side.

Likely just a sensor getting wet. Possibly on the trans. Water might not be sprayed directly on it but the powerful blasts create a lot of mist which travels.
I've never had an issue with moisture and the fuse/relay box. The cover does a nice job of keeping out even arizona dust so I doubt moisture gets in their easily.
I wouldn't fret about it. Just quit taking it to car washes and enjoy no more troubles plus a paint job that will thank you. Car wash places are terrible.

lol, i forgot to mention it is a touch less wash so the pressure is extra high and it uses high pressure air to dry the vehicle. It just pisses me off as i was trying to show off after it was all clean and it started miss firing and making me look like a jack ass.Ha ha ha.Dam old trucks.I could buy a newer vehicle any day but vehicles these days all look like EGGS with wheels.Plus i love the vintage feeling and the v8 sound.

My gas pedal does go dead sometimes on random days when taking off from a stop.I always thought the fuel pump was to blame for that tho.

Touchless washes are only marginally better.
Get your codes read to see if the ecu is recording a fault which might lead you to the offending sensor.
Then follow the directions found here:
