Hi all,
For the last 3 or 4 month I have been thinking on how to fix my cat which was rattling very bad. Though of either cutting it out or replacing or etc.
Well i was measuring it for the replacement and notice something very odd, The heat shield on the back side was resting on the cat? That was strange, so i pushed on the heat shield until it was level with the front of the cat. I took a screwdriver and pushed was i though was part of the cat up to level, then baned the hell out of it, no rattle!!
So i took some metalsnips and cut into the heat shield expecting the worst, but it came to be that some metal ID plate which is attached to the cat on side was lose, and resting on the heat shield, i pull and twisted it and finally removed the other side.
Now all you hear is my nice deep howl from the flowmaster and not that damn clanking noise
Hope this helps if any have same problem
