Hello Everyone!

Question #1

How do I know if my Cat is bad or going bad? My vehicle drives perfect until I really get on the gas. Sometimes I will damm near floor the vehicle and the RPM's will not even rise. However, so long as I baby the acceleration, vehicle drives fine. If the CAT is restrictive, would this cause the RPM's not to rise when vehicle is floored?

Question # 2

I have 1 '93 Explorer Sport with the 4.0 Automatic w/ AC

When I drive vehicle without the AC on, the battery gauge in dash sits dead center. When AC is activated, needle falls to the N in NORMAL. This is with headlights off, wipers off etc. Leaving the AC on battery needle will twitch every so often from the N to the O in NORMAL as do the RPM's Is this normal? Voltage REG? What?

I know about the A/C that is normal, in fact my battery its usually at the L in NORMAL then when AC is on it drops to to the middle of NORMAL, the A/C just sucks alot of power no biggy.

cats

It souds exactly like the cats.

I saw in previous post that your FPR is good and if it was your O2 sensors then you would get cheack engine light.

You will notice a decent drop in mileage too.

I just replaced mine for 120 bucks....Ford wanted $680.
I suggest getting the high flow cats from aftermarket.
