My Panasonic In dash CD/receiver craps out on me evertime I drive up to Tahoe. I think I have narrowed the cause down to when I run the heater in the truck.

Suddenly the music will stop, there will be a pause, then the CD will get ejected and the disply reads Error E-2.

Someone please help!

Look in the manuel, they usually list the errors. If you can't figure it out from that, take it to the place you bought it.

Hi Pete,

Unfortunately, this seems to be a problem that some people are experiencing with their CD players, and it always seems to happen in a fashion similar to yours, driving up hills with the heater on. If you do a search here in the archives, it may show up if they are maintained, and the problem has also been addressed in the newsgroup, but no real solution except to try and keep the player cool. I think it's just the Explorer area makes head units prone to overheating being so close to the heat vents in addition to a hot engine.

I have seen this problem elswhere......

The proximity of the cd player to the heater duct seems to make (any)the players overheat.....

I just installed a CD player in mine....if it becomes an issue, I plan to try and isolate the player and duct using heat-reflective material.........

Basically, insulating the duct might help.....

that sounds reasonable, but what if it happens when you are running the a/c?
