CEL comes and goes

The Check Engine Light on my son's '97 OHV 4.0 came on about 6 weeks ago then went out a day or two later before we checked it. It did it again earlier this week. It passed the NC safety inspection with no problems, so it must not be storing any codes. Is there anything we can do except try to catch it when it's on? Thanks, David

Mine did that for a while and i caught it on and stopped by Advance and it was the gas cap. I checked it and it was on properly but it finally stopped on its own. No clue why. Hope that helps!!

mine also done that and now it stay on all the time.. mine is the cat tho smells like rotten eggs
