I have a question for all 1998 V6 SOHC 4x4 auto tranny owners out there (and anyone else who knows for a fact). What is the correct change (read recommended) interval for the tranny fluid on the 5R55E, mated to the V6 SOHC? I have scoured both the normal and the severe duty schedule in my service manual and I can't find any reference to the tranny for the V6 SOHC (or any V6 for that matter).

Got any ideas? I thought 36,000 would be adequate, but I can't find any validation on this. My vehicle has 30,000 on it now.

Edit
Finally found it! 48,000 miles! This seems way too long. And this comes from the severe duty schedule!

Special Stuffff!

I was going to search my '01 Sport manual and see what they said but it's at the shop since the dealer (surreptiously) fixed and poorly painted my factory ordered Sportunder the R. passenger window. Now, they've got to do it again. On topic, I think the limited slip may get a little something different but I do know they seem to be awfully particular about what you put in the thing. If it's synthetic, it can go a long way. How about the same sensor they put in aircraft engines that alert you to metal particulate in the oil?
