So, we went to the in-laws last week and Sarah asked if I'd change the plugs on trouble as she's been running rough since we went to Manitoba in April.
So, I changed the oil and filter and then set about changing the plugs...
This is nearly as bad a task as changing the ball joints! After getting all the plugs out, I destroyed 2 burnt on plug leads in the process, I got the first plug back in, Driver's side nearest the rad. Plug 2 snapped going in, so I used another plug, snapped that one. Tried a third plug, snapped that one. We came to the conclusion that there was an issue with the thread, so we got a thread chaser eventually to clean the threads up. All the other plugs went back in no problem and I had some spare plug leads from the pile of parts that I have for pickle sitting in the shop...
Here's some pictures..
6 plugs, probably original
Close up of the ends... hardly anything left
And the leads that had to sacrifice themselves so that I could get on with the job
I wish there was an easier way to change them...
