Changed transmission range sensor as per original trouble code.
Cleared memory, everything OK for a couple of minutes, then right back to same error code. Any suggestions on what I could check in the way of wiring or other possible cause? Fluid and filter changed about 10K ago. Seems to shift fine and runs great otherwise. Just tired of this nagging problem.

:(

Had it scanned again this AM. Codes 705 and 708. Cleared codes and the lights are back on less than ten minutes later. :(

Have you carefully checked the harness for rubbing or any potential shorts? Did you align the TRS when you installed it?

No, I have not checked the wire harness yet. I will give it a good look tomorrow AM. I had also read that I should disconnect the harness and examine the pins for corrosion and or missing bent pins. The thing that is confusing to me is that the P0708 code refers to a voltage that is too high. I may even remove and re install the TRS paying closer attention to my manual. However, the shift lever P R N D.... letters all line up perfectly. Could I have still misaligned something? Thanks for the help.

The sensor itself has some latitude for adjustment when installed.

Cool!

It has rained here all day, so no chance to work on it. If the weather co ops tomorrow, I will adjust it and pray that it does the trick. The more I think about it, I am sure that did not take the time to adjust the TSR as it says to in my Haynes manual. Thanks again.
