I have a 1997 5.0 AWD. I am going to be changing out the front differental, how hard is this task and does anyone have any pics of this? How do the CV's come out of the differental? Thanks in advance!!!!!! Richard

i have no clue to be honest, but others in the past might have some useful info....search.

Havent done one on that truck but MOST vehicles the axles will pull right out. Obviously this involves releasing the outside ends and pulling on them. Really not as tough as it sounds.

Remove the hub end nut, remove the steering knuckles and then tug on the CV axles. You can also pry between the housing and the inner CV. You will feel resistance, then a pop, then they slide right out - along with the fluid! The axles are held in with Cir-Clips at the diff.

Thanks to all!!!

Thanks to all that replied. I got the job done, wasn't that tuff at all. If anyone needs the axle or any of the spare parts i have, there FREE, just pay shipping. Thanks again, Richard
