Tackling it this weekend, any tips on pulling the hub, without special hub pullers.

Thanks CC

Remove wheel
Remove 1 1/4 bolt hub axle nut. 185 ft lbs retorque... No you don't need a new nut after
Remove UCA pinch bolt, and drop spindle
Pull CV out and tuck out of the way
Remove 3... 18? MM bolts
use a punch or screw driver and bash it between the hub and the knuckle... It will come out.

If the cv bolt is stuck in the hub just thread the nut to the end and smack it real hard with a sledge. It'll come...

Also... Don't locktite anything, not needed esp the 3 bolts at the back. If using an impact to remove, you'll need a swivel... Took me about 45 min off and on.

Wouldn't it be easier leaving the UCA pinchbolt in and just break free the axle with a air hammer or a hammer, and use a swivel for the rear bolts?

If you've got the tools, sure. However you don't want to hammer too much on that CV, because the diff nor the CV will be happy.

I can swap a hub on these things in 30 mins now, it's such a common wear part..

The only annoying part is getting the back bolts off since the axle gets in the way sometimes.

Also, if you can, jack up the whole front end and throw the key in the ignition so you can turn the wheels. Makes life easier too.

I had no trouble doing mine, but they don't salt my roads.

Fixed it for you.

My $0.02 as others have mentioned you don't need to remove the upper pinch bolt (I didn't) but to add to the above, it probably wouldn't hurt to put some grease on the axle shaft and hub.

Good idea with the grease on the axle shaft I'll trow some bearing grease, I've got a 5lb slide hammer to get her out shouldn't be a problem, just getting enough clearance for the 3 bolts is what I'm afraid of, I've seen Mackaluko use a air hammer to push the axle in enough to get the bolts
