Hey guys,

I'm thinking I want a little more growl out of the ol' exploder...been happy with dynomax in the past. Don't like the sound of flowmaster, so please don't suggest it ;p. Had a gibson and replaced the muffler twice due to broken baffles, and got fed up.

Catback or replacement muffler, don't really care. It's a 97 Eddie Bauer 5.0 AWD.

Thanks, guys.

Karl I'm right there with ya all the way on the dynomax.
Flowmasters didn't impress me, but wen I put the
Dyno on my 'stang... ohhh yeah! They have more of a low growl, which I like. The best place I found for mine was Ramchargers. But they are local to Michigan. For the mufflers (2), it was about $90. That was for 2 1/2" on center inlet and 2 1/2" offset exit. I didn't think that was to bad a price.:D

I checked out Jegs Racing (www.jegs.com) and they have the direct-fit muffler, depending on what size comes stock as there were two versions, for 129.99 (17671) and 146.99 (17672). The bolt-on full system running 2 1/2" pipe is 209.99 (17352). Considering you're gonna have to pay some monkey $60.00 to weld up the "direct-fit" muffler, one would be better off doing the "bolt-on" kit themselves. However, back in my Mustang days, I had a "bolt-on" dynomax setup from Mac, and it was as crooked as a politician. Then again, that was some 12 years ago, and I've learned a lot of patience since then, so I could probably get it right.

And I checked out A-1, and their prices were even better, if only by a few bucks. Thanks for the source!

And Shane, you shoulda heard the Stang after I pulled off all 4 cats and hacked the pipe off right after the mufflers...which were completely blown out due to seeing 6,000 rpm everyday...sounded bad-ass. Miss that car.
