Where can I find the best prices on OEM parts in Web? Also, I need some warranty work on my 02 XLS 4.0 MT. Does anyone know of a good dealer mechanic (engine work) in the Chicagoland area?

My XLS sometimes hesitates on initial acceleration (0 to 2,500 rpm). So the dealer changed the airflow sensor. The hesitation does not happen anymore. But now, my accelation from 0 to 2,500 rpm is no loger as zippy. See, I went for the manual trans hoping for good acceleration from rest. No, I don't seem to have the torque from 0 to 2,500 rpm I had before the airflow sensor replacement.

Any ideas why?

Best to y'all.

Yes I do as a matter of fact. Go to Highland Park Ford in Highland Park. They have excellent service and hours. I used them when I lived in Chicago(Evanston). I took my Ranger there as well as my Explorer with excellent results. We also took our Mustang GT there when it had tranny problems(manual) and they replaced the entire tranny in one day with absolutely no hassles and no return visits.

Stay as far away as you can from North Ridge Ford. They **** up everything they touch and I am not kidding.

I went in for an oil change and they did just about $1500 in damages. The second time they did about $500 in damages.

You gotta tell us what they damaged that badly doing an oil change. I would find it tough to intentionaly do that kind of damage resulting from an oil change.

Well basically I went for an oil change, my first at 3000. While it was there they mentioned the driver power window motor needed replacing. So since it was warranty I said ok. Went to pick it up the next day and they had burned holes in the floor, seat, door threshold, step bar and steering wheel because their mech decided not to cover anything while grinding off a stubborn rivet on the door AND left a phillips screwdriver gouge in the door arm rest. It took them 6 months to get everything replaced because it was a new model and everything was factory back ordered. The best part was that they actually gave me the truck in that condition without saying anything.

The second time was, again, problems with the driver AND pass power windows. Driver door parts had to be ordered so they said pick it up and we'll call when it's ready. They brought the truck around to me and when I went to shut the door I practically pulled the entire panel off breaking the retaining clips because the mech forgot to screw it back on.

It's little stupid **** like that that really kills a dealer.
