Check engine light and sluggish acceleration

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I have a 97 special edition 4.0 automatic 4WD. Recently I have have problems with sluggish acceleration and pinging and backfiring. This trouble came about immediately after doing a tune up, so i rechecked the plug gaps and made sure the wires were getting good connections..... no help. An engine scan told me cylinders 2 and 5 misfire. I checked all sensors on the intake side and all electrical connections and still haven't found the problem. Any suggestions?

Double check to make sure the new plug wires are installed properly. You didn't cross 2 and 5, did you?

No everything is on in correct firing order, plug boots are snug.

recheck the 2 and 5 cylinder plugs and wires.. are the wires drawing current and if so, are either of the plugs sparking?
