nobodys had problems with that sensor or what?

IF it's comparable with other model year X's, it's quite simple. Remove a couple hoses, remove a wiring harness & 2 bolts, reinstall. Yes, remove the neg. cable for the battery (20 min or so). You're good to go!

I tried to do it but I cant......I took off the wiring harness...but I couldn't take it off the 2 lil pipes it has under....do i just pull it off or what(I tried pulling it off but it didn't wanna come off)....do I need a special tool or something?

thanks

Do you have a Haynes/Chilton's manual? On my OHV engine, it's connected with 2 small bolts and (2) high-temp rubber hoses. The hoses should just pull off, but b/c of the intense heat, they may be tough to get off. Worst canse scenario, just cut/rip the hoses off and replace them. You should be able to get 2' of EEC hose for under $5.

aright man let go try that ...be back..

thanks for the help man

Is this what your's looks like?

I just have to add, speaking from experience:

1. If your problem lies with sticky hoses, they're probably due to be changed anyway.
2. Make SURE you get HIGH-TEMP hoses from the autoparts store. Standard vulcanized rubber hoses will melt right off.
3. The hoses are 2 different sizes (inner-diameters), make sure to get the right ones. I know i mentioned getting 2' of hose from a parts store, but it's not all the same size. 1' of each should be fine, but double check.

I believe you can put this on yourself but you will need to find a haynes manual if you have no clue where it is. Its always better to pay for something you have no clue about than trying it yourself and making it worse.

aright I did it....it didn't have no bolts.....I just pulled it off and put on the new sensor.......hope I didnt mess anything...

naw that dont look like mine in ur picture

Sonnysux - did you find out specifically where the DPFE sensor goes? I have the same problem and need to replace my sensor. Ford says they'll charge me $220 to do it, but the part is only $38.
