Check engine light

Ive got a 93 XLT. Is there any reason I would be getting a CEL anytime im driving with the shifter in the 1 position. Its got the A4LD. Im not talking very fast. No more than 2500 rpm. Ill get a CEL everytime I do it.

I don't know I haven't had time to get it read.

But everytime Im driving with the column shifter in 1, say moving a trailer around the yard somewhere, I get a CEL. Again the engine is running no faster than 2700 rpms
