check engine light

does the check engine light ever goes out, fix something, two week later its back on, does anybody have a 96 without check engine light problems. are these 4.0 lemons

sohc or ohv? either way neither of them are as reliable as the 5.0 v8...

Well sometimes it takes awhile for certain codes to reappear if you unhooked the battery to clear them if you didn't fix the right thing to begin with. Been there done that with all kinds of cars.
Best to use a scanner to clear codes.
