That would depend on when you had it done and whether or not your dealer did what they were supposed to do. As of November, 2000 any time either was replaced, the dealer was supposed to do both per the program. I have heard of instances though were people have said their dealer didn't since they didn't have any symtoms for the other going bad. The reason Ford instructed the dealers to do both at the same time is each repair takes about 2 hours by themselves but if you do both repairs, it only takes about 2 1/2 hours. Since Ford knew both items were prone to problems, they wanted to save some inevitable future warranty calls by just doing it all at once. The unscrupulous dealers though would charge Ford the full 2 1/2 hours of warranty labor allowed to do both but only do one of the items. There wasn't any real way to tell. Unfortunately when Ford now looks up your VIN they will likely tell you that the update has already been done. It shouldn't matter though since you are still covered under the extended warranty whether you have the revised parts in or the old parts.
