Heres kind of a simple handy tip to help all who have the 5r55 series transmissions. If you do any work on the transmission where the drain plug is removed IE: fluid/filter changes, solenoid replacment, valve body replacement, etc.. it's always a good idea to check that the inner plug is not seized or stripped inside the drain plug prior to placing it (drain plug) back on the pan. A lot easier to have a new one (if not more) on stand by to replace if needed! It'll save you a lot of downtime trying to get that unforgiving T-30 Torx head out of there.
