My 302 MSD sparked Bronco2 has not been as peppy as it used to be.
Found the problem, now she's back purring like a kitten.
I guess 50,000 volts takes a toll on these electrodes. That's just plain nasty.
I had to do this procedure before and is part of my regular maintenance program. It saves some money for awhile anyway. These MSD caps are not cheap.
This will be the last cleaning before getting new cap. The gap is getting too large between rotor and cap.
I just mix up some vinegar and soda and brush it on. It starts eating that crap instantly.
Then some added persuasion from an utility knife.
Next I use some 400 grit wet dry paper. In this case wet.
Then copious amounts of warm soapy water and brush. Please no comments on the pink brush. It's my wifes. Rinse with fresh water. Then all that's left is to use my wifes hair dryer LOL
