hey all -- I havn't been around for a while, but my 7 yr old son poped the doors open on the 98 X while playing with the keypad.

I figure there would be less of a chance of this if I cleared the personal codes that may be in it.

I bought the truck used, and don't have a manual.

Could someone post how to clear the codes.

Thanks!

to get a new code??? or you dont want to use the keypad??

you got a couple of options...

For new code:
1. Must replace RAP module (Keyless entry box)
2. Get an aftermarket keyless entry system

To discontinue the use of the keypad:
1. Cut the black wire coming off of the RAP module... which is the keypad's ground wire...remote button will still work...
2. Remove the RAP module (Keyless entry box)

the RAP module has the pin code on the box...so if you want to change the code...in order to get another code...you got to replace the whole thing...
