Ok so I have recently noticed a problem with my explorer. I tried searching but perhaps just don't have the proper terms put in
The problem I am having is when I put the truck in gear and sit still or stop at a stop sign / light there is a ticking noise coming from under the hood. If I rev the engine a little then it goes away but as soon as I let off it comes back.
I had my fiancee sit in the truck and put it in gear while I listened where the noise was coming from. To me it sounds like the alternator or something in that general area.
Anyone have any ideas?
