is there a part number for this clip that holds the sensor in the thermostat housing?

i bent up the original one, and now it wont hold the sensor. No parts store carries this clip, & other typed of clips don;t work. holy crap this is rediculous.

is there a trick to getting the clip back on?

any part #'s?

thanks!

I haven't seen a parts staore carry this either. NAPA may have it or the stealership too. I would pull one out of a junkyard. The clip gets put in from left to right standing in front of the engine, The housing has two open slots and each leg of the clip slides into one of these and then secures the ECT to the housing. Hope it helps.

I assume it comes with a new sensor. So you could buy a new one as a last resort.

If you're talking about the wire retainer that looks like a misshapen "U" fordparts lists it as HX1 $7.00.
