So I figured I may share a pic of my dash cluster, just because I think mine is special
I have been in many 2000-current fords, and they all have a similar cluster, I havent seen one like mine EVER
so if I may, I will post up a pic later for you all to see
how about you share yours?

FINALLY
I got a night shot up
sorry it took so long guys!
check it out, I feel like mine is unique

Umm looks just like mine and just about ever other explorer I have seen. Is there some thing I am missing? Oh you need gas.

I don't get it either. :dunno:

lol i got custom gauges in my 98 sport but these look kinda stock

OP,

Believe it or not, out of all the 2002 - 2005 Explorers on the road, only the 2002 model year had a different gauge cluster. The font is completely different from the 2003 - 2005 model years. That's why yours is like that.

Here's some more trivia... the 2003 was the only model year Explorer out of all the 2002 - 2005 models that don't have the "Explorer" decal on the front doors. Yup, look at any 2003 model and you'll see it's shaved off.

See I was curious about that... I thought it was stock but I never really knew
I love the look, completely different from every other ford I have been in
makes me feel like im runnin the world when I look up to see 70 on the speedo and im cruisin down the hway passin people

Studying for a differential equations final so I cant wonder from it too much but this is incorrect only the 2003's are missing the side badge. (There is a thread here somewhere)
And another piece of info it seems as thought the only models in which don't get to meet the kracken is the 2005 year. This year was the first with the advane trac system badge. I and others have never seen the crack on the ones with the extra badge and that is why we believe this.

he said 2003's

Rondo, does your mounty cluster gas needle go all the way to full? ever since i swapped from stock mine hasnt gone to full, even when i stand there and top off the tank several times. It just barely reaches the notch before full

Steve, the gauge does go to full but not a lick past it. I can't remember how the old gauge acted? :dunno: I know all my other Fords would go past full if you really filled it.

Heading to the filling station now. I will get a pic and post it up when I get home tonight.

mine goes to full but it stays there about 75 miles or so when i have a filled up tank...
I wanna see some clusters though, very interested in it
and the gas/idiot light never comes on because i dont have one! ahaha, cant get me though, i look at the gauge!

also, notice that its 25 degrees?
WTF no snow yet either!

we had a good ice over last week

heres my mounty cluster swapped into my explorer. I got lucky and found one with 4hi and 4low

also, i dont have a low gas gauge anymore either :D

LOL, that and his engine is running a little cool or not up to normal operating temp range. :D

If "meet the Kracken" means the crack in the rear applique panel "doesn't" occur on 2005 Explorer models with RSC Advance Trac Badge, that would be untrue. The crack "does" appear on these types of 2005 models and my Explorer is living proof of it. The extra badge won't stop the crack from happening. Mine cracked Sept. 2011 and the crack line runs down the rear panel just to the right of the center Ford Badge.

AAHHHHH!

Dang it I was hoping there was hope for our generation to not have this as a complete fault. And your x is the first I've seen or hear of with the advance trac badge.

Wow just went back, I must have been tired this morning. Studied for two hours Wednesday night, followed by 14 hours straight on Thursday followed by another 6 hours today.... You can guess, I hatted that class, but hey its over with now.

And as for the full thing. Mine (stock) used to go a little past full but for the past three or four fill ups it has maxed right on the f. And now seems to not linger on the f. Before I could drive basically a quarter tank on f then it would somewhat quickly move to e. Now it seems to move more regularly.:dunno:
