I have a 1999 Mazda B4000 Manual Transmission. I am having a problem disconnectiong the quick link coupler that the hydrolic fluid goes into the transmission. I have tried using the tool from the autoparts store and taking a flat head screw driver to push in the white plastic shield. The hanes manual says it should disconnect when I do this. It is not. It feels like it isn't fully engaging all the way in disconnecting. Anyone know a trick or advice on how to do this?

I've done it a few times with a small screwdriver, and the trick seemed to be to push the white ring in further than you think is necessary, till you can't really see it.

I seems that it doesn;t take much dirt and grime getting in there to prevent from being able to push the ring in far enough. You should clean the ring really good before attempting to disconnect the fitting.

You may also have to clean, push the ring in and out a bit, clean again, repeat several times to try and flush all the crap out.

I think it is Perfection Clutch that make a slave cylinder and different fitting that doesn't use the so-called quick disconnect.

Thanks got it... there was a bit of grime in there. Took A LOT of cleaning to get it out. Thanks a bunch for the posts.
