- 1994 Ford Explorer XLT
I started getting a code 332 and 'Check Engine' light on my 1994 XLT with 178,000.
I noticed one of the vacuum hoses going into the DPFE had a hole in it and thought for sure that was the problem.
Replaced the hose and no luck!
Ended up replacing the DPFE with an Airtex/Wells unit and the problem is solved!
So be aware that after 170,000+ miles, those exhaust fumes take their toll on the original DPFE. Note that the Airtex replacement units did away with the diaphram design and use the exhaust gas pressure to signal a solid state device, the exhaust gases never enter the DPFE so it should last a long long time.
