Okay so I have intermittently had my ABS light come on and off the past month. Started happening after I replaced my upper and lower ball joints on each side of my 2004 Ford Explorer 4.0 V6. It seems ABS light comes on a couple times a week at least and goes off each time I start the car up. It also seems like the light comes on when I accelerate or turn, not when I brake hard. I thought I had to solution figured out by reading other threads on here when I realized there were 2 different parts people were saying fixed this issue. Can anyone tell me if its part # SW634 or 3L3Z-9F924-AB that I should be looking at. Thanks as always!

The SW# didn't come up for me. If you go to fordparts.com or ...giant.com you'll often get two #'s.
The OE long # (3L3Z-9F924-AB) and their replacement Motorcraft # SW634(9?)

Old stock and new stock I suppose.

You may have jostled your hub bearings enough to cause an issue. Especially if they are original. A failed hub bearing can cause an ABS light. Not that you caused it to fail, but that it already had.

Edit, looked up your code. Read this to test the switch.

Okay thanks you helped me figure it out. They are the same piece, I was just confused by the way some people picture them, for example this picture shows an orange piece, I though it was a plunger but it's just a protective cap I believe.

Yes, orange cap is just covering the threads. They should have taken it off for the picture.
