Hi everyone, I have a 2006 explorer 4.0 XLT and about a week ago the car cranked but won't start. I kept trying until it started. Few hours later it won't start again and check engine light came up with 2 codes: P0191 and P01233. I toke it to a technician who diagnosed it as a faulty fuel pump. He replaced the pump and the problem seemed solved. Few days later the fuel tank cap light came up. I read about it and found it is most probably a leakage in the EVAP system. I went to the technician and he went under the car and told all the connections are fine. He disconnected the battery for some time and told me it will be fine. Two days later check engine light came up with the code P0442 "small leak 0.04". I went to the technician again and he was frustrated and went under the car again and said no issue is there. We cleared the code and about 2 days later, check engine light came back. I searched forum here and other and found it could be a small leak in the hoses/valves of the EVAP system. I don't smell gas on the car and the fuel tank cap look fine. No issues were seen before replacing the fuel pump. I suspect the technician left some connections loose but taking the tank down again on very painful. Any help or ideas to solve the issue are much appreciated.
