It was raining, I was bored and the girls were down for a nap.
I was scrolling through some taco forum and now I want to do something to my console. It's a decent size for storage but damn if you start actually using its space you will likely have to pull things out to get to this or that and then throw it all back in. Then there is those USELESS coin slots that don't hold the change you likely have in your pocket at the moment.
I want to make it organized and wouldn't mind some kind of lock. Obviously the lock would be more of a deterrent, that is unless they had some time. I 1st was going for the false bottom, to…you know hide the gum. I made a cardboard template and then started thinking, if I needed to hide the gum I sure wouldn't do it next to me/in the cab where it would smell real minty. Then I started thinking of a box or divider. Don't think I really like the look of a pen/office type divider so I started a template for a box.
This is what I started with, trying to shape it to look normal with the inside layout/cd slot tabs. Still wanted to use the full depth of the cd slot for a pen, glasses, bottle hand sanitizer (where it won't fall on its side and leak all over) or anything else that needs the length upright.
Was thinking of wood at 1st. Just thought of a plexiglass maybe painted. What do you think?
