i am a big fan of the manual locking 4x4 i switched my 96 f150 to manual transfer case and manual hubs(less problems and easier to track problems down)
so how hard and how long does it take? and personal opinoins ofcourse is it worth it? please lmk:exp:

Well i have the Warn manual lock hub kit purchased from a 4x4 shop that closed donw a few years back and payed 200 with the conversion kit , which wasn't a bad price in 2005 when i did it , the manual t case is just a safety precaution to insure your in 4x4 , unlike the electronic shift seems to get issues from no use or continued use , have not actually done a swap but have seen them on here in the past and it didnt look like too much work ,and if your willing to do it, might as well and be sure your locked in !!

I got lucky and found one that came from the factory that way.

Mikesak how good does it look? can you post a pic of shifter?

so do yall think its worth it? does ranger t case work? how does it look in floor board?

You swapped your f150 over to manual T-case and hubs? How long did that take you? Its going to take you about the same amount of time to swap the Ex over.

uh took about 6 hrs friends dad is mechanic and he did hubs for me took him 20 minutes lol hardest part was in my f150 i removed all the electronic 4x4 wiring and relays out took a little while and snap on shop key to trace wires down

1st: Are all the keys with punctuation marks missing off your keyboard? Try using some. Most people will try to read your posts, give up on deciphering your (for lack of a better work) sentence, and just move on without helping.

2nd: There is no need to remove the E-shift wiring. Just leave it there, thats what Ford does.

thank you. I just tried to make it look better in the f150, so far its been a 2 year project and want it to be perfect. thanks for the help, i am new to sites like this, i am a trail and error type of guy. Learned most of what i know by myself.

theres nothing wrong with trial and error , i took my trans out , swapped in annother one , and it worked , never done one before hand !

i have been going to college to be an autotech.

nice , i either learned the hard way , or well figured it out myself , if i had the money college would be my main concern , mainly because there is a shortage of reasonable mechanics

nice. thank you very much mikesak. it looks a little cramped when shifting gears, how does it do in your opinion?

Not cramped at all.

Here's a shifter pic from another angle:

Ignore the knob sticking up behind the shifters, that's for my dual t-case setup (something you won't need unless you want to crawl over big gigantic rocks lol)

thanks 4x4junkie. i will have to start looking for a ranger or explorer manual transfer case.
