What all is necessary to convert my stock oil pressure gauge to read actual pressure? I've read that I will need a sending unit E4ZZ9278A or equivalent, and that there are two resistors on the back of the dash board unit. Do I remove both and replace them with wires or only one of them. If only one, which one?

@logeorge Howdy from about 20 minutes from you in Lickskillet AL, west Hazel Green. Here is a link to a guy who has done what you are proposing to his Ranger. It is a good time to bring up the subject. Recently I've seen several people asking about this. I see that the sending unit for a gauge is just like the sending units for 1966 Mustang oil pressure gauges, and not like for a 1965 Mustang has that the light goes out when you have oil pressure. Link below.
Ranger oil gauge upgrade Maybe this will help.

I know where Lickskillet is, also Black Cat and Pinedale. I'm from Ohio, but my wife is from Toney. My late mother-in-law used to have me drive her around and show me all the odd places that people from other areas would never hear of. The video looks to be helpful, but I'll have to do some things a little differently since my engine is a 4.0 and the sender location might be different. Nothing that can't be overcome, though. By the way, I retired from the Lima Engine Plant where the Vulcan V-6 was made, as a Toolmaker/Templatemaker. In 1985 I helped set up some of the machinery to build that engine. Most of my work was of a relatively minor nature, though. Mostly when working overtime or when the regular guy in the area was off for some reason.

Did your late mother-in-law drive you over to Coffee Pot?
You wouldn't happen to have a small machine shop in your garage or shed? Lathe, Bridgeport mill, etc?

I'm not sure about that, it's been over 50 years ago. I know where Coffee Pot is anyway because my wife used to send me there for bologna. The Coffee Pot Grocery(now closed) had a brand she especially liked. As to the machine shop, I WISH! I wanted to get a lathe and milling machine before I retired, but I would have had to move them over 500 miles, so I thought I would get them after relocating. Never happened! Too much family expense from raising my late daughter's four girls. Now they're all grown and I still don't have any machinery. Sad part is that I had a buddy at work who was really good at finding good deals on used machinery. I guess I should have bitten the bullet and paid to get them moved.

Greg here. Good to meet you. 18 years ago, I met a borderline girl/woman. 2 years later I married the Ardmorian. Her maiden name was McNeil.
4 days a week she makes the trek from Lickskillet through Ardmore to almost Pulaski via Hwy 31. She works at Saar Gummi.

Glad to meet you, too. My first name is Loran(rhymes with Warren) Kind of an odd name. I was named after my father, but can't find anyone else in the family history with that name. I used to get a lot of advertising mail with an Ms. in front of the name. I guess they thought it was pronounced Lorraine. I am not now and have never been female, however. If you looked into my bios, you have probably figured out that I am well into Geezzerhood. I turn 87 on the first of Sept. Never the less I still get around pretty well and can still do about anything I really want to. Have a lot of replacement parts. Some of my descendants about have a fit if I get up on the roof to check on a loose shingle or work on the chimney. Met my wife in 1962 while at Redstone courtesy of the US Army. Married in March 1963. Sixty-one years!
