Hey all,

My ex is starting to freak me out with a coolant issue. One day I fill up the over flow tank and two-five days later its dropped to the bottom of the tank. I haven't any white smoke from the tail pipe. I checked the heater coil and it was in good shape, and I ran the truck and looked under it for five minutes with no leaks. WTH??

I smell the coolant in the cabin and around the engine but I have no idea where its going?

HELP!!

I would start by getting a cooling system pressure tester (Autozone borrows them out if you don't want to buy one), hooking that up, and looking for leaks with the engine cold.

Are you still leaking coolant?

I just had an idea, run your truck for about 10 minutes with the engine fully warmed up. Turn on the heat to the max and direct it to the upper vents so its in your face.

If the heater core is the culprit, I bet you would smell coolant like no other this way.

Just an idea.

leaking intake gasket?,mine does this i can smell coolant outside and just alittle inside but mine earlier this year started out leaking down the front of the engine then when summer got here it must have made the metal close the leak up some ...so i still loose coolant but very slowlly none on the ground tho ,it must evaporate before hitting the ground .

My 94 does exactly the same thing. Another huge vote for how truely useful this website is. I learn something new everyday on here.
