About a month ago I had to replace both the heads on my truck both of them were cracked. Well of course when I put the truck back togather I didn't have any coolant on hand so I just threw some water in the radiator instead. Last night when I went to bed it was around 28 degree's and It got to about 10 degrees during the night and I woke up and it was back around 30 degrees started the truck and let it warm up came back outsided after letting it warm up, the temperature was alittle higher then normal and it was dripping from the front of the motor, when first attempt to start the truck it sounded like the starter was grinding or the battery was dying, I've comed to conclusion that the water pump frooze and when tried starting it it broke the ice up breaking the fins and seals and causing it to leak out of the wheap(sp) hole. I'm wondering if I had a cracked block would it show any other signs or do you think i just got away with only a messed up water pump. Any tips on taking the water pump would be appreciated alot thanks Bob

Changed the Water pump the other night and It fixed the problem, had to make a wrench, I coudln't find a 1 7/16 inch wrench that was narrow enought to get to the nut. Important lesson don't forget the coolant!
