ok sometimes when i'm driving along i get this crackling sound coming from all my factory speakers. it doesn;t matter if i turn volume down it still stays the same. then when i push the mic button on my CB it will makes the same noise and when i talk into mic my voise comes out through all my factory speakers!!!! what could cause this? my cb is not even wired in with my radio! i have the power wire on the cb hooked to the cigaretta lighter wire, and grounded off the steering colunm clamp. another thing that confuses me is that it doesn't happen all the time. what could it be! bad CB ground or what?i have cut into the speaker wire at the back near the amp so it could be a lose connection, but how would the CB affect that?

Does it happen when you play a cd or cassette?

yes it does it on both radio and cd

I'm having this same problem but only from the passenger side rear speaker.......

Do you have a stock cd player or one of those fm modulater thingy?

i have a kenwood cd player, and i also have a SWR meter hooked into my cb antenna wire, i dunno if that has to do with it. it sounds like alot of the sound comes from the drivers rear speaker.

I have an aftermarket head unit.....

ok i checked all my wiring and i seem to have stopped the cb from getting into the speakers. but sometimes i still get a noise from the drivers side rear speaker.
i put the factory deck back in and am gonna see how it is now.

I started to get a crackling only on the radio sometimes, cds would always play fine. of course this was after i flooded the truck, so maybe that has somethin to do with it

i had a lot of problems like this and wasted some money, then finally replaced ALL THE FACTORY speaker wire....

...no more crackling, whining, etc.

I've got this same problem. System was working fine. The other day I jumped in the truck to leave the store and turn on the stereo and get NOISE!! With the volume at (0) still loud noise from all door speakers.

I got a aftermarket head unit>eq>4 channel amp and mono amp. All new speakers and wiring. I checked the ground and it seems fine(bolted to the floor behind back seat).

Any ideas on why this is happening all of a sudden?
