Well, you guys are lucky! I get 10-11 around town with my 96 EB 4.0. K&N drop in with lower shroud removed. Truck runs great, but I'm beginning to wonder if I just THINK it's running great as I have no point of reference. First EX. Never driven another. Idles fine, seems to have plenty of power. Maybe I'll replace plugs/wires etc.
I get about upto above 27MPG on a good run, at a steady 70-75MPH, so aldives 32 is certainly achievable as my 27 is in 4Auto with the tires at 30psi, and fairly windy roads.
Keeping the windows shut, the AC off, tires upto pressure and improving the aerodynamcs are about the best things you can do to improve full mileage over and above a good tune up.
Originally posted by ok89 I have 2WD as well and get 14.5 mpg I doubt there is a large difference between a 4x4 with the t-case in 2-hi and a fulltime 4x2.
I notice Mark is from the U.K which use a Imperial gallon like us in Can. the Imperial Is slightly larger than the U.S. gallon which makes a bit of diference. I found it 1 imp. gal.=1.2 US gallon so that would add up.
OK triva lesson done.
