crusie control wont turn on

1993 eddie bauer
i got a 93 Eddie Bauer and the cruise wont turn on. i have checked all the fuses that i can find for it and they are all good.can anyone point me in the next direction i should take anything will be of great help. t.y

Next thing I would probably check would be the vacuum lines going to the servo under the hood.
 


















Check the vacuum dump valve that is mounted up next to the brake pedal under the dash. The hose from it goes directly to the cruise control unit under the hood. It sits in a clip and tends to pop out of place. You can just push it back down. The pin part of the valve should be pressed all the way into it when the brake is released. You can check it by disconnecting the hose from the unit and applying vacuum with a hand pump. It should hold vacuum with the brakes off and release it with the brake pressed.

That and the green module that controls it mounted above the glove box are two of the most common problems. Test all the vacuum stuff first though...
 






Could also be a faulty brake switch or a faulty cruise control switch.
