cutting the back seat

so i want to cut up the back seat, only a small square for my new xover, and i will probably mount it on the back seat, which side i dunno......but i just wanted to know if there were any troubles i would run into, or if anybody has done it before how do i go about doing it, any tips?

I am planning to sink a x-over into the back seat, although the trap door thingy might get in the way, haven't thought much about it yet...

the trap door thing shouldnt get in the way, i was looking at it yesterday, and all you have to worry about is having to lift the flap a little when you lower the seat.
