Well everything else is out of my truck right now, so I might as well take out the dash and paint it too.

I cannot seem to locate my Ford Exploder CD I bought off of eBay and MY Haynes manual doesn't cover it.

Has anyone ever taken the complete dashboard out? If so, can you please give me any showstoppers? Does the windshield need to be out?

Thanks

I figure I'll reply to this, since I just did one and maybe the info could be useful. No, the windshield can stay in. It's not really hard, just a bunch of wires. This is what I did:

Remove misc. trim off dashboard (glove box, ashtray, trim panel).
Remove kick panels and a-pillar trim.
Drop steering column.
Remove instrument cluster.
At the firewall, there is a big (BIG) plug with a 10mm bolt running through it, and right next to that is another wire which I think is for cruise. Both must be disconnected and pushed through.

It helped to unbolt the ECM from the pass. side kickpanel to unplug some wires.
There are numerous connections on the steering column.

The connectors suck! There are plastic tabs on both sides which are a pain in the ass to unplug when you're trying to work in a limited space. That's pretty much it.
